I have totally loved making the quilts for the twins- the colors are fantastic and the design is a lot of fun. Modern and crisp. I talked with the mom-to-be a little bit and she was wondering if I could make pillows for each of the cribs, and I was right on board! I had been thinking that I would like to make something to soften things up a bit, add a little contrast to all of those straight lines. But, I didn’t really want to tell her about it. I really just wanted it to be a bit of a surprise. She was game, so I jumped in. The chunkiness of this washable wool, double stranded, was just what the project called for. Not a difficult pattern, but great texture.
Well, all I can say is it really stinks to get this far along before you notice the rather obvious, sudden and unplanned change in the pattern! This is the part of knitting that scares me a bit- taking all of that out and hoping you don’t drop stitches, etc. Like I have said before, I am not an exceptional knitter, I just like to play with it now and then.
Yes, that’s right, I did it again. Why make a mistake once when you can do it again and again, just to make sure? I like to blame it on the ride to Orlando with my husband and three of our children. They were making me laugh too much.
And here they are! Super cute with a pocket for a friend and all! I really do like how these turned out, especially without a pattern, or the first clue as to what I was doing. I would tweak it a little next time, but totally would make it again.
